Im a home health aide. The old lady that I take care of on the weekends has a permanent live in caregiver. The caregiver hits her right in front of me, the old lady has bruises, only gets to eat once a day and has been burned badly thats why she doesnt want to shower because the burns hurt, and on top of that the caregiver stuffs her with as many pills as she wants from the psychiatrist leaving her sick & dizzy I called my agency and told them about the abuse and my boss said to never call him about that again or Ill lose my job!!!!!! The old lady has dementia and cant think for herself thats why she has a lawyer who is supposed to protect her and even her caregiver. I think that the abusive caregiver acts the way she does because the agency allows it and she has a lawyer that protects her a$$. Im wondering what can I do? Don’t the elderly get any kind of protection against these kinds of things? And on top of that, I would like to add that the caregiver is an illegal immigrant. in NJ
